(04/10/2011) La Mauricie National Park to Hold Last Activity of Parks Canada Centennial Commemoration

SHAWINIGAN (Quebec), October 4, 2011 – On Monday, October 10, 2011, Parks Canada will be holding “Colours Day,” the last activity of its centennial commemoration program in La Mauricie National Park. The day will be kicked off at 11 am at Bouchard Lake, in the Saint-Jean-des-Piles sector, and will provide the public with the opportunity to meet some highly enthusiastic naturalists and to discover the national park in its most brilliant attire!

Lake Bouchard is a magnificent place for a picnic, affording visitors access to the sector’s surrounding l andscape and trails. Come and discover what lies behind the Mauricie region forest’s array of fall colours. And while you’re at it, add your splash to Parks Canada’s centennial celebrations.

For full details, please visit La Mauricie National Park’s Website at www.pc.gc.ca/mauricie.

This year, Parks Canada is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding as the world’s very first national parks service. Several activities have been developed in order to commemorate this centennial. Come celebrate!
