The Parc de l’Île Melville is a 160-acre area that is almost entirely woodland. The Parc is made up of two islands : Melville and Banane, a large forest and a mountain. It is situated in the heart of the City of Shawinigan and bordered by the majestic Saint-Maurice River. The recreational and tourism activities in the Parc are perfectly suited to the preservation and promotion of the natural ressources. Accommodations, an inn and camp ground, and a wide range of outdoor activities, such as Tree to Tree, rentals for watercraft and bicycles, a marina, hiking in the forest, alpine skiing, cross country ski and snowshoe trails, ice skating, etc., are available in the Parc.
